Augmented Reality is transforming the marketing industry.

Since 2022 I’ve researched and developed projects using webAR.
Below are some of my favorites, showing various capabilites.

Futuristic Business Card

This business card was created for an architecture firm to showcase their website portfolio and contact.

I created a transparent mp4 to look like a profile hologram, and an animation of their logo that turns into tappable buttons on the right side of the card.
When the buttons are tapped on the phone screen the contact is downloaded to the phone, or the their website pops up.

The client loved it so much we made two more for his partners and their clients have been amazed, establishing their brand as the most tech-forward architecture firm in their city.

AR Mural Activation

I went back to one of the murals I painted in 2018 and applied an animated graphic that activates simply by scanning the QR code and pointing your camera at the mural.

The animation plays on loop and sticks to the wall, works from viewing at up to a 60' degree angle.

This practice could be applied to signage and large print marketing materials of any kind, infusing it with an offering or sales funnel.

Disclosure: works only in daylight ~

BIM model AR Presentation

This AR presentation was created for an architecture firm to showcase one of their projects to a client.

Using a BIM model, we converted the project file into a 3D model that could be placed in the environment and expanded to any size.

The model retains a high level of detail even when getting close and updates in real time while walking around the room.

Presenting in this form gives architecture firms the ability to showcase their building models to clients in a new and engaging way. Allowing the client to get an airiel view of their building without renting a helicopter!

Building specs and points of interest can be added enhancing the experience.

Paralax effect artwork

The original painting shows only an old TV sitting on a bench with a QR code strategically hidden in the static of the TV.

The QR code activates an image target that overlays layered digital graphics, creating a paralax effect and making the art transform and leap off the page.

Also by creating animations with transparency you can create unique messaging to appear and give life to the printed graphics.
